Two men charged with murder after woman found dead west of Brisbane

Springfield Lakes Police Investigate Suspicious Death A suspicious death is under investigation in Springfield Lakes, a suburb west of Brisbane, Australia. Emergency services responded to a call at approximately 8:06 PM on May 17, 2025, at a residence on Ash Avenue. A woman was found unconscious and not breathing. Despite attempts to revive her, she was pronounced dead at the scene. The residence has been declared a crime scene, and an incident center has been established at the Yamanto Police Complex. Detective Michael Manago of the Ipswich Crime Group stated, "Emergency services were called to attend…in regards to reports of a collapsed female." He further explained that two males known to the deceased woman are assisting police with their inquiries. These men are the victim's husband and his brother. The victim's two young children were present at the home and are currently being cared for elsewhere. A post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death. Detective Manago added, "This is a terribly tragic event, especially given young children being in the home."
