Mexico City, September 13, 2025 – Kevin Díaz Montes de Oca is fighting for his life after sustaining severe burns in a gas pipeline accident that occurred on September 10, 2025. According to a family member, Mr. Díaz Montes de Oca suffered burns to 80% of his body and is currently in intensive care. The incident, attributed to a gas pipeline operated by Transportadora SILZA, has left the family devastated and seeking public support for justice. In harrowing voice messages sent to his family via WhatsApp shortly after the accident, Mr. Díaz Montes de Oca can be heard pleading for help, stating, "Mom, help me, they crashed, something exploded. I'm all burned." He also managed to share his location, indicating he was near the Santa Marta bridges. Family members quickly mobilized, with one message reading, "We are on our way, brother." Another inquired, "Has the ambulance arrived yet?" Footage from outside Hospital Emiliano Zapata shows Mr. Díaz Montes de Oca being transferred on a stretcher, with an oxygen mask, into an ambulance. Despite his critical condition, he was observed raising a bandaged hand, a gesture that deeply moved onlookers. The family has issued a public appeal for justice for Kevin and all others affected by this tragic event.
