Ouagadougou Targets Illegal Fuel Sales in Major BMCRF Operation
Ouagadougou Cracks Down on Illegal Fuel Sales: BMCRF Operation Yields Seizures and Summonses Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso – In a recent operation, the Brigade Mobile de Contrôle Économique et de Répression des Fraudes (BMCRF) targeted the illegal sale of gas and fuel in Ouagadougou. The BMCRF’s actions highlight ongoing efforts to ensure compliance with regulations concerning import, distribution, pricing, and proper documentation for fuel vendors. BMCRF teams conducted inspections at various locations, discovering numerous vendors operating without the necessary permits or displaying prices correctly. "We found that a significant portion of vendors lacked the required business registration and permits," stated Sani Bé Faho, the general coordinator of the BMCRF. "This is a violation of regulations and will not be tolerated." The operation resulted in the seizure of several hundred bottles of illegally sold fuel and gas canisters. Vendors were summoned to the BMCRF to face fines. The BMCRF emphasized that these operations will continue throughout the winter season to ensure fair pricing and prevent dangerous practices. This proactive approach aims to protect consumers and maintain order in the fuel market.
