Shopper sparks outrage after sharing video of produce at Publix: 'Going downhil…
One TikToker revealed that at a popular grocery chain, almost all the green beans in the produce section were spoiled.
A recent social media video has sparked a wave of customer complaints regarding the quality of organic produce at Publix supermarkets. The video, uploaded by user Carlimarie888, showcases visibly spoiled GreenWise organic green beans and broccoli, prompting the user to tag Publix and suggest donating the produce to animal sanctuaries rather than selling it. The video's caption, "@Publix I’m gonna need you to work on that. And donate this sht to an animal sanctuary 🤦🏼♀️ stop throwing food away #publix #southflorida #organic," quickly resonated with other shoppers. Comments flooded in, with many customers sharing their own negative experiences. One user stated, "Publix produce has been going downhill for a while. Either it's bad storage and/or refrigeration, or they're just getting bad products altogether." Another added, "Publix produce can be really sus if you're not careful. I would call customer care." Reports of issues ranged from lettuce filled with bugs to expired dairy products on shelves. A former Publix employee commented, "I have worked at Publix for years. They get the produce that is about to go bad for a cheaper option then sell it for more at the store. Almost all produce we get is usually all about to go bad or all went bad mostly always. Good thing about Publix is their meats! Its always fresh! Just do not go there for the fruits and veggies." The widespread nature of the complaints, referencing stores in South Florida, Ocala, and even new locations in Louisville, suggests a potential systemic issue rather than isolated incidents. Publix has yet to publicly address these specific concerns.
