Three Adopted Sibling Dogs Return to Maui Humane Society.MAUI, HI – In a somber development at the Maui Humane Society, three sibling dogs—Chandler, Cienna, and Christina—have been returned to the shelter after being adopted into separate homes. The news has stirred emotions among staff and volunteers, highlighting the persistent challenges in finding permanent placements for shelter animals.A volunteer, cassondra christman, shared her distress on social media, stating, "Coming in to the shelter yesterday I was shocked and saddened to see not only had one eyed Cienna came back but her two siblings (who were Adopted out separately all to separate homes!) were back too. Three dogs back on one day, at least they have each other while they wait." The video shows the three dogs, including Cienna, who is noted to have one eye, in their kennel, then later engaging with a volunteer who offers comfort and toys. The return of these dogs underscores the complex issues surrounding pet adoption, where initial excitement can sometimes give way to unforeseen challenges for new owners. The Maui Humane Society continues its vital work in caring for these animals and actively seeks new, stable homes for Chandler, Cienna, and Christina. The organization encourages potential adopters to consider the long-term commitment and responsibilities involved in pet ownership to ensure a lasting match. This incident serves as a poignant reminder of the dedication required from both adopters and shelters to provide loving environments for animals in need.
