Electrical Poles on Newly Reconstructed Road Pose Danger in Villa Trina
Residents of Villa Trina, Espaillat province, Dominican Republic, are facing a dangerous situation due to electrical poles left in the middle of a recently reconstructed road. Social activist Guanchi Comprés, a member of the 'Los Peregrinos de Moca' popular movement, denounced the problem, highlighting the risk to drivers and motorcyclists. "The electrical poles are in the middle of the road that's being constructed," Comprés stated, expressing concern about potential accidents. Edenorte Dominicana announced they will relocate the poles, but this responsibility legally and contractually rests with the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC). The MOPC's failure to address this issue promptly has raised concerns about efficiency and public safety. Edenorte's intervention, while addressing the immediate danger, also underscores a larger issue of inter-agency coordination and accountability. This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of careful planning and execution in public works projects to ensure public safety.
