Mexico's 2025-2026 School Calendar Announced: Key Dates and Vacation Periods Revealed
Mexico City – The Mexican Ministry of Education recently released the draft of the 2025-2026 school calendar, outlining key dates for the upcoming academic year. The calendar, applicable to preschool, primary, and secondary schools nationwide, includes specific dates for the start and end of classes, teacher training sessions (Consejo Técnico Escolar), and vacation periods.
"The school year will begin on September 1st, 2025, and conclude on July 15th, 2026," stated a representative from the Ministry of Education in a recent video announcement.
The calendar also highlights two significant vacation periods: one from December 22nd, 2025 to January 6th, 2026, and another from March 30th to April 10th, 2026. In addition, nine days have been designated as suspension of work for teachers. These include specific days in September, November, December, February, and May.
The video announcement also clarifies the dates for the regular Consejo Técnico Escolar sessions, scheduled for the last Friday of each month, except for December and April.
