Ghana to Hold National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving Ghana will observe a National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving on July 1st, 2025, a significant event aimed at fostering national unity. The initiative, spearheaded by President John Dramani Mahama, will involve simultaneous prayer services for both Christian and Muslim communities. In Accra, Christian prayers are scheduled for 8-10 a.m. at the State House, while Muslim prayers will be held from 12:30-2 p.m. at the National Mosque. Similar events will take place across all 16 regions and 275 districts of the country. "The theme for the event is 'Reflect, Reset and Renew for National Prosperity,'" explained Elvis Frimpong, chairman of the planning committee, in an interview. Frimpong emphasized the importance of national unity and the hope that this day of prayer will bring the people of Ghana together. The simultaneous nature of the event, occurring in all regions and districts, highlights the government's commitment to inclusivity.
