A heartwarming display of community spirit unfolded recently in a U.S. neighborhood as residents rallied together to rescue a kitten trapped inside a car engine. The car owner discovered multiple notes on their vehicle, alerting them to the kitten's presence.Initially wary of a potential trap, the owner contacted a number left on one of the notes, leading to a collaborative effort involving several neighbors, a local construction worker, and volunteers from Greenpoint Cats, a local animal rescue organization. The team worked tirelessly, employing various strategies to coax the kitten out, including jacking up the car, opening the hood, playing meowing sounds, and even bringing a decoy kitten, Lydia, from the shelter.After the kitten, initially named 'Engine Kitty,' ran from the first car into another, the team set up a makeshift barrier using cardboard boxes and caution tape around the second vehicle, along with humane traps, food, and water. Greenpoint Cats also deployed a camera to monitor the situation.The rescue culminated late at night, around 11 PM, when the kitten was finally safely extracted. The successful operation was a testament to the community's compassion and determination to save the small animal.
