Sydney, Australia – Popular content creator Chloe Baradinsky has issued a strong rebuttal to an Australian podcast, "Big Small Talk," after it allegedly made "irresponsible" and "malicious" claims regarding her recent trip to Afghanistan. In a video released on August 29, 2025, Baradinsky addressed accusations that her travel was sponsored by the Taliban and that she was merely an "aesthetically driven influencer" with no political depth. Baradinsky, who uploaded the video from Australia, stated that she personally funded her trip and found the suggestion of Taliban sponsorship "absurd." She challenged the podcast hosts for not conducting due diligence, remarking, "It would have taken all of about two seconds for them to email me or DM me, asking was my trip to Afghanistan sponsored or gifted?" She firmly denied any such sponsorship. The content creator also expressed her disdain for being labeled an "influencer," a term she believes carries negative connotations and is used to diminish her work. "People use it because they know it has a negative connotation to it," she asserted, arguing that it paints her as "some dumb, aesthetic, aesthetically driven female." Furthermore, Baradinsky defended her political engagement, citing her annual federal budget wrap-ups and her efforts to encourage people to vote. She also highlighted her ongoing financial donations to charities in Afghanistan, questioning the podcast's insinuation that she did nothing to help. "I forgot to shove the camera in the kids' faces as I was giving out books and crayons to kids in a remote school where the teachers have to fucking work for free," she stated, emphasizing her private charitable actions. Baradinsky concluded by criticizing the podcast for categorizing young women as incapable of independent thought regarding travel. She stressed that the most hateful comments she received were from people not from Afghanistan or without family ties there, while those with connections were supportive. "The only influence I hope to ever have is to think for yourself and use your own fucking brain," she declared. The podcast hosts have not yet publicly responded to Baradinsky's video.
