A local pet owner has found an innovative way to provide fresh, natural enrichment for his beloved guinea pigs by cultivating a dedicated grass patch for them. Cid Dwyer, known for his dedication to his numerous guinea pigs, embarked on a unique gardening project, transforming a simple shell-shaped pool into a lush green haven. Dwyer meticulously prepared the pool by adding soil and scattering seeds, then protected the growing grass with a shade cloth to deter local wildlife. After approximately a week and a half, the grass had matured into a dense, vibrant carpet. The highlight of the project came when the guinea pigs were introduced to their new green space. Initially, they explored the grass within the pool, showing immediate interest. Later, Dwyer carefully removed the entire grass mat from the pool, placing it directly onto the ground in their enclosure. This allowed all the guinea pigs to gather around, eagerly burrowing into and munching on the fresh, homegrown grass, showcasing their pure delight in the natural treat.
