
Moldova Invests €35 Million in School Upgrades, Bolsters Railways with Fuel Allocation
Moldova Announces €35 Million School Modernization Project and Fuel Allocation for Railways The Moldovan government recently approved two significant projects aimed at improving education and transportation infrastructure. A €35 million initiative will modernize 90 schools across the country, with priority given to 15 existing institutions. This will directly benefit approximately 13,000 students and teachers. Minister Dan Perciu stated, "With the support of the Council of Europe Development Bank, we will implement this project to improve the quality of education." The project will focus on energy efficiency upgrades and renovations. In a separate decision, the government released 500 tons of diesel fuel from state reserves to the national railway company, "Calea Ferata din Moldova." This allocation, worth over 12 million lei, will ensure the continued operation of freight and passenger transport. Minister Daniella Misail-Nichitin explained, "By implementing this project, we aim to provide railway services at affordable prices for the population and create an alternative for economic operators." These projects demonstrate the Moldovan government's commitment to investing in education and maintaining essential public services.
