
Moldovan Wrestling Tournament Attracts Hundreds of International Competitors
The town of Călărași, Moldova, recently became the center of international freestyle wrestling. The 42nd "Cupa Călărași" tournament, held at the Constantin Cobilan Olympic Reserve Sports School, attracted hundreds of competitors from Moldova and abroad. Constantin Cobilan, a renowned coach, commented, "This year, for the 42nd edition, we invited ten countries, seven of which accepted and are now participating in the tournament. We have a total of 280 participants." The event showcased not only impressive wrestling skills but also the dedication and sportsmanship of young athletes. One young wrestler, Cătălin Spînu, shared, "When you see small children wrestling here with such enthusiasm and ambition, you see character developing that leads to very good results." The tournament's success reflects its growing prestige and its importance in nurturing future wrestling champions.
