EU Scrutinizes Moldova's Agriculture and Fisheries Laws
Moldova Undergoes EU Scrutiny of Agricultural and Fisheries Legislation Moldova is currently undergoing a crucial review of its agricultural and fisheries legislation by the European Union. This process, involving a joint working group of Moldovan and EU representatives, assesses Moldova's preparedness for EU accession. The screening focuses on key areas, including sustainable resource management, food security, and combating illegal fishing. According to Ina Butucel, Deputy Secretary General of MAIA, this chapter is relevant for confirming Moldova's commitment to sustainable management of aquatic resources, strengthening food security, and stimulating economic development in rural communities. The EU's assessment will determine Moldova's readiness in this sector, paving the way for future alignment with EU requirements. This is supported by the Moldova-Germany Dialogue project, focusing on agricultural policies, funded by the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture. The collaborative effort reflects Moldova's dedication to meeting EU standards and its progress towards EU membership.
