
Moldovan Opposition Demands Action on Amnesty Law and Corruption
Moldovan Opposition Bloc Demands End to Persecution and Corruption Investigation Chisinau, Moldova – Members of the "Alternative" political bloc held a press conference today, June 4th, 2025, to demand an end to the persecution of citizens and a thorough investigation into corruption within the ruling party. The bloc expressed deep concern over the recent Amnesty Law, which they claim led to the release of numerous dangerous criminals. "The entire country knows that Parliament voted for a law that allowed the amnesty of particularly dangerous criminals, including killers," stated Alexandr Stoianoglo, co-chair of the "Alternative" bloc, during the press conference. The bloc is calling for a full investigation into the matter and has requested a response from the ruling party. The "Alternative" bloc also criticized the ruling party's reluctance to establish a commission to investigate the Amnesty Law.
