Moldova Boosts Road Fund: 2.7 Billion Lei for National and Local Improvements Moldova's government recently announced a significant increase to its road fund, allocating 2.7 billion lei for road projects across the country. This marks the first time funds will be specifically directed towards improving local roads. Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development, Vladimir Bolea, outlined the plan, stating that funds will be used to complete ongoing projects, modernize the national road network, and, importantly, upgrade local roads. Approximately 708 million lei will be dedicated to national roads, focusing on 54 sections identified for rehabilitation. Minister Bolea further emphasized the unprecedented allocation of 500 million lei for local road improvements, a new initiative within the framework of the European Village program.
