Moldova's Economic Boom: 110,000 Now Earn Over €1000 Monthly
Moldova Sees Surge in High Earners: Number of Citizens Earning Over €1000 Monthly Rises Sharply In a significant development for the Moldovan economy, the number of citizens earning over €1000 per month has experienced a substantial increase. According to data presented by economic expert Veaceslav Ioniță, in the first quarter of 2025, 110,000 Moldovans received a gross monthly salary exceeding this threshold. This represents a remarkable 6,000-person increase compared to the previous quarter. Even more striking is the number of individuals earning over €2000 monthly, which has doubled since 2023, reaching approximately 16,000. "This growth is driven by several key factors," explains Ioniță. "Firstly, the stability of the leu against the euro played a crucial role. Secondly, we observed a modest increase in the number of employees in the real sector, adding approximately 3,000 jobs." The consistent increase in high earners since 2014 further underscores this positive trend. The current figures suggest a continued upward trajectory, with projections indicating that by the end of 2025, the number of Moldovans earning over €1000 monthly could reach 130,000. This positive economic indicator signals growth and stability in the Moldovan job market, offering a hopeful outlook for the country's future.
