Charleston Homeowner Seeks Privacy Planting Advice for Backyard Renovation
Charleston, SC – Homeowner Clara Peirce recently turned to social media for landscaping advice as she embarks on a backyard renovation project. Peirce, who initially considered planting bamboo for privacy, has reconsidered her plans following feedback from her online community regarding the plant's invasive nature. In a video shared today, Peirce showcased her current backyard, which is in the midst of demolition, featuring a large metal stock tank. She highlighted her neighbor's existing bamboo hedge, noting its effectiveness in providing privacy from adjacent properties. "I just love how lush and green it is," Peirce stated, referring to the neighbor's bamboo. "If they cut that down, I could like make eye contact with them while they were in their kitchen, so I just love the privacy illusion that this gives." Peirce is now seeking suggestions for alternative plants that can offer similar height and privacy along her back fence line. She clarified that existing bushes are not tall enough and will not be kept. "I want something that will provide me like that height of privacy along this back fence line," she urged her followers, inviting them to share their recommendations for suitable privacy plants.
