Los Angeles, CA – Filmmaker Tyler Perry is facing a lawsuit alleging sexual assault and harassment, filed by actor Derek Dixon. Dixon, who was cast in Perry's TV show 'The Oval,' claims Perry leveraged his industry influence to repeatedly sexually harass and assault him, according to court documents. The lawsuit, filed in LA Superior Court, seeks at least $260 million in damages. Dixon alleges that Perry initiated unwanted sexual text messages after his casting and promised career advancement, making it clear that non-compliance with sexual innuendoes would result in his character's demise. The lawsuit states that Perry eventually sexually assaulted Dixon on 'multiple occasions.' In response to the allegations, Matthew Boyd, an attorney for Tyler Perry, stated, "This is an individual who got close to Tyler Perry for what now appears to be nothing more than setting up a scam… But Tyler will not be shaken down, and we are confident these fabricated claims of harassment will fail." Perry denies all allegations.
