ANPC Inspection Uncovers Food Safety Violations in Romania
President of ANPC Cristian Popescu Piedone conducted an unexpected inspection of a cold storage facility in Romania. The inspection revealed several violations of food safety regulations. Frozen chicken was found with burn marks, indicating improper handling or storage. Additionally, imported mackerel products lacked the required Romanian translation on their labels. Piedone stated, "Conform legislației, produsele alimentare din import trebuie să aibă etichete traduse în limba țării în care sunt comercializate." This highlights a disregard for consumer safety and labeling laws. The lack of proper labeling could mislead consumers about the product's origin and quality. The ANPC president confirmed that such violations will be sanctioned with fines, ensuring accountability for maintaining food safety standards. This inspection serves as a reminder of the importance of adhering to regulations to protect consumers.
