Hamilton's Aberdeen Avenue Named Ontario's Worst Road Again
CAA Releases 2025 Worst Roads Ranking: GTHA Dominates Top 10 Ontario drivers have spoken, and the results are in. The Canadian Automobile Association (CAA) has unveiled its annual ranking of the province's worst roads, and the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA) is facing a pothole-filled predicament. Six out of the top ten spots are occupied by GTHA roads, a testament to the ongoing challenges faced by commuters. Taking the top spot for the second year running is Aberdeen Avenue in Hamilton. "This is the second year now that stretch is on the list," stated a CTV News reporter on location. The reasons for its low ranking are clear: severe congestion and noticeable road surface issues. Eglinton Avenue West in Toronto also made the list, ranking fourth, due to similar problems. A CAA spokesperson added, "There's certain pockets of Eglinton Avenue West that are experiencing some road surface issues...but definitely congestion is something that we heard." The report highlights the ongoing need for road maintenance and infrastructure improvements throughout the region. The hope is that different levels of government will address these concerns and improve the identified roadways. The CAA's Worst Roads ranking serves as a crucial reminder of the importance of investing in road infrastructure to ensure the safety and efficiency of Ontario's transportation network.
