Senior Punches Teenager at B.C. Tim Hortons: Viral Video Sparks Police Investigation
A video circulating on social media shows a senior citizen punching a teenager at a Tim Hortons in Saanich, B.C. The incident, which occurred in late April, has garnered millions of views and led to a police investigation. According to 24-year-old Isaac Campbell, who posted the video, a 14-year-old teenager was throwing food, including at the senior's wife. "I turned around. There’s like a 14-year-old kid standing there," Campbell said. "I just kind of gave him the stink eye and then I heard an old man start yelling, so I just whip the phone out. I knew something was going to go down." The video shows the senior repeatedly striking the teenager. While the teenager's actions were inappropriate, the senior's response raises questions about appropriate responses to such situations. Saanich Police are investigating the incident and are asking anyone with information to come forward. The incident highlights the need for de-escalation techniques in conflict resolution.
