UK's First Flying Taxi Completes Successful Cross-Country Flight
The UK's first 'flying taxi' has successfully completed its maiden cross-country flight, reaching speeds of 150mph during its journey over the Cotswolds. The electric aircraft, the VX4, a prototype developed by Vertical Aerospace, took off and landed vertically, carrying four passengers and a pilot. Pilot Simon Davies called the flight a 'career highlight,' stating that 'Our performance predictions were absolutely spot on.' This successful test demonstrates the potential for faster travel times between locations like Battersea and Heathrow, currently a 52-minute journey by road. The innovative aircraft has already attracted interest from airlines in Brazil and Turkey for use at their airports. This achievement marks a significant step towards the future of air travel, offering a faster, more efficient, and potentially environmentally friendly mode of transportation.
