Police Officer Suspended After 'Let Her Rot' Comment on Vulnerable Teenager

A Hertfordshire police officer has been removed from frontline duties after being caught on camera saying 'let her rot' about a vulnerable 19-year-old teenager who wouldn't answer the door. The incident, captured on the teenager's home security system, shows four officers visiting the teenager's home. After the teenager failed to answer, one female officer is heard making the disparaging remark. A friend of the teenager told MailOnline that the officers had been called because the teenager had dialed 999 fearing her friend was having a breakdown and was about to take her life. Following the officers' departure, the teenager was found unconscious in her flat by her social worker and rushed to hospital. Hertfordshire Police have described the officer's language as "not representative of the constabulary's ethos." The force is now conducting a full investigation into the incident.
