Split, Croatia – Singer Đana Smajo, the recent winner of the IDJ Show, has revealed details about how she's investing her 124,000 Euro prize money into her burgeoning music career. In an exclusive interview with Dalmatinski portal, Smajo shared her excitement about a new project set to release on the first day of summer, featuring five new songs. “I haven't spent everything yet, but a lot has been invested in this new project that's coming out soon, so I'm very excited,” Smajo stated, emphasizing her personal involvement in the creative process. “I wanted to give more of myself to all of this because I think the audience still needs to get to know me in that sense.” Reflecting on her journey since winning the show, Smajo acknowledged both the benefits and challenges. “The only thing that's truly hard for me is not being here, I miss the sea, especially in summer when I know I have to work,” she admitted, expressing her longing for Split. “But of course, I'm grateful for what I have, for finding my path.” She added that her success has brought many positive connections with collaborators in the music industry. Looking ahead, Smajo plans to continue focusing on pop music, a genre she grew up with. “I tried to move away from it last year, and then I realized it wasn't for me, and I missed it,” she explained. “So I'm slowly returning to my roots.” She also shared her aspiration to perform live with her own band. “I think I need that, my soul needs it,” she said, inviting musicians to reach out if they are interested in collaborating. Smajo hopes her new EP, which includes ballads and upbeat tracks, will offer something for everyone.
