London, UK – A 25-year-old self-employed babysitter, known online as Danni The Babysitter 🌺, has offered a candid look into her monthly earnings, sparking debate about the cost of living in the capital. Danni, who works as a "supersitter" through the Bubble app, detailed her June income, revealing a net take-home pay of £1,252.04 after deductions for taxes and transport.In a video uploaded on July 2, 2025, Danni explained her hourly rate of £15, noting different commission structures for new and returning clients. "I looked after one new family who weren't on Bubble... I also charged them £15 an hour," she stated, adding she earned £180 from them. For eight new families through Bubble, she made £535.92 after a 20% deduction. From 16 returning families, she earned £1,045.57, with a 3.5% deduction. Her gross total for the month was £1,761.49.However, Danni highlighted the significant deductions and high cost of living in London. "I also take away 25%, 20% for taxes and 5% for just transport and fees," she explained, bringing her net income to £1,252.04. She clarified that this income, combined with her full-time job, barely covers her expenses. "While this figure sounds phenomenal, this only just about covers my bills as well as my full-time job," Danni said, revealing she often works "70-hour work weeks most weeks." She also mentioned living alone (with a housemate, but responsible for her own bills) in a "really nice apartment" with two cats, contributing to her "substantially higher" bills.The video has generated considerable discussion online, with many commenters expressing surprise at the low net income for such a demanding schedule in London.
