Bucharest, Romania – Recent allegations have surfaced regarding Roxana Brădățan, the head of the prominent environmental NGO Declic, and her alleged involvement with an energy company. According to statements made by Romanian MP Dan Tanasă, Ms. Brădățan, whose organization is known for its strong opposition to hydropower projects, simultaneously served on the board of Apuron Energy. Mr. Tanasă claims that while Declic actively campaigned against the construction and operation of hydropower plants, Ms. Brădățan was involved with a firm that, despite promising significant investments totaling 25 million lei, reportedly declared zero profit and paid no taxes to the state. Furthermore, the company, allegedly founded in a small apartment in Constanța, is said to have provided services to Kogălniceanu Airport. These accusations suggest a potential conflict of interest, raising questions about the transparency and motivations behind certain civic activism efforts. The claims, if substantiated, could highlight a complex interplay between environmental advocacy and private business interests in Romania’s energy sector. Neither Ms. Brădățan nor Declic have yet publicly responded to these specific allegations.
