A recent viral video, uploaded by content creator Dara Tah, has sparked widespread discussion after documenting an alleged encounter with a "cannibal tribe" in the remote jungles of Papua. The video shows Tah on a boat, approaching two individuals dressed in traditional attire and armed with bows and arrows on a riverbank. Tah is heard saying, "We found a CANNIBAL tribe," and later, "I think they're pointing bow and arrows at us, bro." In an attempt to establish contact, Tah offers salt, a gesture his guide reportedly suggested for bargaining. However, the interaction quickly turned tense, with the guide stating, "He doesn't look like he likes that... It's really dangerous." Tah concluded the encounter by saying, "Not gonna lie, that is absolutely terrifying." The group subsequently retreated, with the guide apologizing, "I'm sorry I take you here." The video, which has garnered over 17 million views, has drawn mixed reactions, with many viewers questioning its authenticity and some referencing the movie "The Green Inferno." Concerns have also been raised about the ethical implications of such encounters and the potential risks of disease transmission to isolated communities.
