A Polish traveler, Darek Wojdyga, recently completed a 100-day journey across South America, documenting the financial aspects of his extensive trip. Wojdyga shared a detailed breakdown of his expenditures, aiming for a mid-range budget throughout his travels. His costs included approximately 3,890 PLN for flights from Warsaw to Buenos Aires and from Bogota back to Warsaw. Internal flights within South America amounted to 13,360 PLN, while buses and public transport cost 2,890 PLN. Taxis and Uber services were utilized for 1,140 PLN, and car rental with fuel totaled 950 PLN. Organized tours and paid attractions were a significant expense at 13,950 PLN. Entry fees for destinations like Galapagos and San Andrés were 980 PLN. Accommodation expenses reached 9,350 PLN, and food and drinks accounted for 9,670 PLN. Shopping was 1,640 PLN, and souvenirs and gifts cost 1,500 PLN. Minor expenses included 90 PLN for pharmacy, 500 PLN for SIM cards and top-ups, 180 PLN for haircuts, 190 PLN for laundry, and 30 PLN for public toilets. Travel insurance was 1,740 PLN. The cumulative cost for the entire 100-day adventure in South America was reported as 62,040 PLN. Wojdyga invited viewers to comment on whether they considered this amount to be high or low for such a comprehensive trip.
