Crimean Bridge Attacked Again: Ukraine's SBU Claims Responsibility
The Crimean Bridge, a key transport artery connecting Crimea to mainland Russia, was attacked again on June 3, 2025. The head of Ukraine's Security Service (SBU), in a statement, claimed responsibility for the attack. According to the SBU, a large explosive charge, planted months in advance on underwater supports, was detonated at 4:44 a.m. The explosion had a destructive force equivalent to 1100 kg of TNT. The SBU reported that the bridge is now in a damaged state. The incident comes after two previous attacks on the bridge, further escalating tensions in the ongoing conflict. While the Russian Ministry of Defense has not yet commented, the incident is likely to have significant geopolitical consequences. The SBU's statement highlights the ongoing strategic importance of the Crimean Bridge and the determination of Ukrainian forces to disrupt Russian supply lines.
