Health Expert Reveals Top & Worst Cooking Pans for Your Well-being

Expert Ranks Cookware: Unveiling the Safest Pans for Your Health. Budapest, Hungary – A recent online video by health expert Dr. Kertész Norbert has sparked widespread discussion by ranking common cooking pans based on their health impact, urging consumers to reconsider their kitchen essentials. The doctor meticulously detailed the potential dangers and benefits of various materials, citing scientific studies to support his claims. At the bottom of the list, pure aluminum cookware was strongly discouraged. "These pans can leach toxic aluminum, cadmium, and lead into your food, posing significant risks to your health," Dr. Kertész stated, referencing research on metal exposure from cookware. Next, PTFE-coated non-stick pans, widely known as Teflon, were highlighted for their high-temperature instability. "When heated excessively, Teflon breaks down, releasing toxic gases and harmful substances," he explained, advising their use only for low-to-medium heat applications such as warming food or preparing eggs. Ceramic-coated pans were presented as a safer alternative to Teflon, offering similar non-stick benefits without the toxic release, though their durability was noted as a drawback. Cast iron and steel pans earned high marks for their safety and unique ability to enrich food with iron, potentially aiding in the prevention of iron deficiency anemia. "While they require more fat for cooking and careful maintenance to prevent rust, their health benefits are undeniable," Dr. Kertész noted. The undisputed winner was stainless steel cookware, lauded for its complete non-reactivity, ease of maintenance, and safety across all cooking temperatures. The expert concluded with a crucial general warning: "Regardless of your pan choice, always avoid extreme high-temperature cooking, ideally staying below 200-220 degrees Celsius, to prevent the formation of harmful glycation end-products."
