Liverpool Car Crash: 47 Injured, 27 Hospitalized; Suspect Arrested A car plowed into a crowd of pedestrians near Liverpool Football Club earlier today, resulting in injuries to 47 people. Twenty-seven of the injured required hospitalization, including four children, with four individuals currently in critical condition. Merseyside Police have confirmed the arrest of a 53-year-old man from the Liverpool area, stating that he is believed to be the driver. The incident is not currently being treated as terror-related. However, the incident has drawn comparisons to last summer's Southport attacks, with criticism of the police's initial response. In contrast to the Southport incident, police have been much quicker to release information to the public this time. A police spokesperson stated, "We understand the public's concern and are working diligently to provide updates as they become available."
