Milford Embraces Green Initiatives with Coffee Ground Recycling and Free Water Refill Station
MILFORD, CARLOW – Local environmental advocate, "Earth Buddy Eoin," recently highlighted two commendable initiatives in Milford, Carlow, demonstrating a strong commitment to sustainability and community well-being. Eoin visited Barrow Brew, a popular local coffee establishment, which has now partnered with him to donate their used coffee grounds. These grounds will be utilized for Eoin’s vermicast project, converting organic waste into nutrient-rich compost. This collaboration exemplifies a growing trend among local businesses to adopt eco-friendly practices and support circular economy principles. In addition to the coffee ground initiative, Eoin also drew attention to a free, contactless water refill station located in Milford. Provided by Ballinabranna Water Co-Operative Society Ltd, the station offers safe drinking water to the public, encouraging the reduction of single-use plastic bottles. "Free water should be everywhere, guys," Eoin stated, emphasizing the accessibility and environmental benefits of such facilities. These efforts underscore Milford's dedication to fostering a greener, more community-oriented environment, providing valuable services and promoting sustainable living for residents and visitors alike.
