TikTok Skincare Guru Reveals Secrets to Ageless Skin: SPF, Retinoids, and Azelaic Acid
In a recent viral video, TikTok creator "Egyptian Skincare Girl" (Maha) shared her top tips for achieving youthful, clear skin, even for those over 40. Maha, who claims to have transformed her own skin and assisted over a thousand women, highlighted three key components for an effective anti-aging routine, advocating for accessible solutions over expensive treatments like Botox. "I do not care how much money you spend on products," Maha stated, emphasizing that the most crucial step is consistent SPF application. She warned that neglecting sunscreen is "literally on your way to the worst skin in your life." Secondly, Maha strongly recommended incorporating a retinoid into one's daily routine. Originally studied for acne, retinoids were later discovered to possess significant anti-aging benefits, addressing issues like clogged pores, texture, and overall skin health. "It can give you glowy skin, it can fight your acne, it can fight aging," she explained, calling it an "all-in-one" solution. Finally, to combat dull, uneven skin tone, hyperpigmentation, and tired-looking skin which she identifies as a major sign of aging, even in younger individuals Maha suggested using azelaic acid. She described it as "amazing" for fighting inflammation, redness, and uneven skin tone. "If you couple this with the retinoid, you will literally have the best skin of your life, I promise you," she concluded, offering hope for a radiant complexion.
