International Activists Intercepted by Israeli Navy: Thunberg and Toribio Detained

International activists Greta Thunberg and Sergio Toribio were intercepted by the Israeli navy in international waters on June 9th, 2025, approximately 160 nautical miles off the coast of Gaza. The incident occurred during a 'Freedom Flotilla' voyage. In a video statement, Thunberg stated, "We have been intercepted and kidnapped in international waters by the Israeli occupation forces." Toribio, also in a separate video, confirmed the interception and appealed to the Spanish government for assistance. The incident has sparked international concern and calls for the immediate release of the activists. The Israeli government has yet to release an official statement regarding the incident.
