Migrant Boat Capsizes off El Hierro, Several Dead

Several migrants died in a shipwreck off the coast of El Hierro, Canary Islands. A small boat carrying approximately 180 people capsized near the pier of La Restinga. According to the video, several people died, including minors. The footage shows rescue workers assisting migrants in the water. One rescuer stated, "It was chaos; we were pulling people from the water, many were unconscious." The incident is a stark reminder of the dangers faced by migrants attempting to reach the Canary Islands. In 2024 alone, 9,757 people lost their lives trying to reach the archipelago.
