Deadly Plane Crash Rocks San Diego Neighborhood
San Diego Plane Crash: Multiple Fatalities Reported in Residential Area A Cessna 550 plane crashed in a residential neighborhood of San Diego early Thursday morning, resulting in multiple fatalities and injuries. The incident occurred around 3:45 a.m. in the midst of heavy fog, as the plane attempted to land at Montgomery-Gibbs Executive Airport. The impact caused a large fire that quickly spread, destroying several vehicles and damaging numerous homes. "It was impossible to describe the scene," said Police Chief Scott Wahl, describing the widespread fire fueled by the plane's fuel. "Everything was on fire." Emergency responders arrived to find several vehicles and houses engulfed in flames. Residents from the affected area were immediately evacuated. The authorities confirmed multiple deaths, with at least two fatalities and eight injuries. While authorities confirmed that the victims were on board the plane, their identities have not yet been released. The pilot had reported being five kilometers from the airport, but no emergency signal was sent. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) have launched a joint investigation into the cause of the accident. The investigation is ongoing and the area remains closed.
