REYKJAVIK, Iceland – Ford has officially unveiled its new Ford Ranger Plug-in Hybrid, marking a significant step in the evolution of the popular pickup truck. Presented in the rugged landscapes of Iceland, the latest iteration of the Ranger combines robust utility with advanced hybrid technology. The new Ford Ranger Plug-in Hybrid boasts a combined power output of 281 horsepower, derived from a 2.3-liter EcoBoost gasoline engine paired with a 75 kW electric motor. This configuration allows the vehicle to achieve an electric-only range of up to 43 kilometers, extending to 52 kilometers in urban driving conditions, making it a versatile option for both work and daily commutes. Equipped with a 10-speed automatic transmission, all-wheel drive, and a low-range gearbox, the Ranger Plug-in Hybrid is engineered for exceptional performance across diverse terrains. It offers an impressive towing capacity of 3.5 tons and can carry over one ton in its bed, maintaining the Ranger’s reputation as a capable workhorse. Inside, the new model features a technologically advanced cabin, highlighted by a 12-inch central touchscreen display and an 8-inch digital instrument cluster, providing drivers with comprehensive control and information. The vehicle is available in a double cab configuration with five seats. Ford has announced that the Ford Ranger Plug-in Hybrid will start at 43,500 Euros for the XLT trim, with other trims like Wildtrack and Stormtrack also available, the latter exceeding 60,000 Euros. Since its inception in 1982, the Ford Ranger has sold over 20 million units globally, solidifying its position as a leading vehicle in its segment.
