Clean Water Brings Joy to Dominican Communities
Santiago Oeste and Hato del Yaque residents celebrate access to clean water thanks to government investment. The Dominican Republic's government, under President Luis Abinader, has made significant strides in improving access to potable water in several communities. One such success story is in Santiago, where the city's water and sewerage corporation (CORAASAN) has seen improvements. Andrés Cueto, director of CORAASAN, said, "To speak of water is to speak of President Luis Abinader. We had a backlog of investment in water and wastewater treatment." This investment has led to the construction of new aqueducts, bringing clean water to previously underserved areas. Cueto highlights the impact on communities like Hato del Yaque and Santiago Oeste, where over 300,000 residents now have access to clean water. This project demonstrates the government's commitment to improving the lives of its citizens.
