Children's Voices Take Center Stage at Dominican Republic's National Congress
The Dominican Republic hosted its National Congress of Children, Girls, and Adolescents, a significant event focused on amplifying the voices of young people. Magistrada Olga Diná, a key participant, highlighted the unique approach of the congress, stating, "We came to listen to our children and youth so they can express themselves, because this is a congress with a spectacular voice." This approach places children at the center, with adults acting as listeners and guests of the Ombudsman's office. The congress aims to directly address the needs and concerns of young Dominicans, ensuring their voices are heard in shaping policies and initiatives that affect them. This initiative represents a positive step towards youth empowerment and active participation in national development.
