En verano, con las temperaturas disparadas, la gente recurre a diferentes estrategias para mantenerse fresco
Madrid, Spain – Nurse Jorge Ángel, known for his health advice, recently shared crucial information regarding hydration practices, particularly relevant during periods of intense heat. In a recent video, Ángel cautioned against the common habit of rapidly consuming very cold water, especially after physical exertion. According to Nurse Ángel, this practice can lead to several adverse health effects, including muscle cramps, diarrhea, and constipation. More severely, it poses a risk of thermal shock and, in extreme cases, could even contribute to a myocardial infarction. He emphasized the importance of allowing the body to adjust to water temperature. “It’s better to arrive, pause for a moment, and especially for the first sips, hold the water in your mouth briefly so it can temper,” Ángel advised. He also reiterated the general recommendation to avoid strenuous physical activity during the central, hottest hours of the day to prevent heat-related health issues. The advice serves as a timely reminder for public health during warm weather.
