RTM Broadcaster Awarded for Four Decades of Service and Selfless Act
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – Tan Lee Bee, a veteran broadcaster with Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM), has been awarded the Ahli Mangku Negara (AMN) award for her four decades of service. What makes her story particularly moving is her personal journey. "Semuanya bermula kerana adik yang pekak," she shared, explaining that everything started because of her deaf younger sibling. To support her sister, Lee Bee took the initiative to learn sign language, accompanying her to a special needs school. This dedication extended throughout her career at RTM, where she consistently championed inclusivity and accessibility for the deaf community. The AMN award, presented by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, is a testament to her unwavering commitment. This act of compassion and dedication inspires us all.
