Actor Joshua Jackson recently opened up about the devastating loss of his childhood home in the recent Los Angeles wildfires during an interview on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon." Jackson revealed that the house, which he had inhabited on and off for 25 years and where he was raising his nearly five-year-old daughter, was completely consumed by the flames. "This is awful," Fallon remarked, acknowledging the profound personal nature of the loss. Jackson described the scene upon returning, stating, "I'm standing in front of this thing, and it's still literally smoking." He initially felt disconnected from the ruins, perceiving it as "just a pile of stuff that burned in a fire." However, Jackson shared a surprisingly optimistic perspective on the tragedy. "In some ways, I'm actually excited for the opportunity," he stated, reflecting on the home's significance. "That house has given me so much over the years... It has everything: the heartbreak, the baby, just life. All of life is in there. Every floorboard is a piece of my story." He expressed a forward-looking vision for his daughter: "I'm excited to build a new house that doesn't have all of Daddy's history in it, that is for her and I. So, when she grows up, every floorboard has her story in it." Jackson concluded by saying, "It's not how I would have chosen to do a remodel, but in some ways I'm actually excited about the process," highlighting his resilience and hopeful outlook amidst adversity.
