Two 'stunning' Turkish destinations get new flight routes from major UK airport
If your idea of a perfect holiday is traditional culture, ancient ruins and decadent cuisine, then listen up.
Gaziantep, a city in southeastern Turkey, is rapidly gaining recognition as a global culinary hotspot. Recently, food blogger Fatimah Omran visited and highlighted a local dessert called Katmer. "I’m gobsmacked that food can taste so different just a 2-hour flight from Istanbul," she shared in her video. Katmer, a flaky pastry filled with cream and pistachios, is prepared by skilled chefs who roll the pastry incredibly thin. Omran sampled two versions: a triangle and a spiral. "Even though they were both made with the same ingredients, they tasted very different," she noted, emphasizing the chefs' expertise. The video concludes with Omran describing Katmer as a "must-try" for food enthusiasts, further solidifying Gaziantep's growing reputation as a culinary destination.
