Omiš Celebrates Children's Klapa Festival: Young Talents Shine at 59th Edition OMIŠ, CROATIA – The 59th Omiš Dalmatian Klapa Festival concluded recently with a resounding success, highlighted by the 4th Evening of Children's Klapa. The event, held in Omiš, showcased the incredible talent of young singers from across Croatia. The competition was fierce, with numerous klapa groups vying for the prestigious Omiš grdelina award. In the elementary school category, klapa Škatulica from Gruda took home the gold, while klapa Faganel from Split secured silver, and Opuzenski tići from Opuzen won bronze. The high school competition was equally impressive. Klapa Maestral from Dugopolje emerged victorious, followed by klapa Žižula KUU Mosor - Gata from Omiš in second place, and Gimnazijalke from Šibenik claiming bronze. "It was an incredible experience," said a member of the winning elementary school klapa, Škatulica. "We worked so hard, and winning is a dream come true." The event also featured performances by many other talented groups, adding to the vibrant atmosphere of the festival. The 4th Evening of Children's Klapa served as a fantastic prelude to the main festival, promising an exciting continuation of the rich tradition of Dalmatian klapa singing. The success of the children's event underscores the enduring appeal of this unique musical heritage and the bright future of klapa singing in Croatia.
