The reports followed a trip Panayiotou took to Moscow with four other MEPs during Victory Day celebrations. Panayiotou stated in his video, "I'm not yet officially investigated." He clarified that the trip was not funded by the EU Parliament, stating, "This money came from our own pockets." The video includes footage from the EU Parliament and from the MEPs' visit to Moscow. The EU Parliament has launched an investigation into the five MEPs' trip to Moscow. This investigation is ongoing.
