José Griñán, a longtime FOX 26 Houston anchor, passed away recently. He was known for his warmth, charisma, and dedication to the community. Griñán spent 30 years at FOX 26, covering everything from breaking news to heartwarming features. "José was a beloved and familiar face in Houston," said a colleague in a FOX 26 tribute video. His career began in El Paso, Texas, in 1975, and his reporting took him across the nation. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Griñán was known for his generous spirit and commitment to organizations like the National Kidney Foundation and Special Olympics. His legacy will continue to shine brightly in the stories he told and the lives he touched. He was a proud father of two daughters and a cherished member of the National Association of Black Journalists and the National Association of Hispanic Journalists.
