His career began in El Paso, Texas, in 1975, and his reporting took him across the nation. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Griñán was known for his generous spirit and commitment to organizations like the National Kidney Foundation and Special Olympics. He was a proud father of two daughters and a cherished member of the National Association of Black Journalists and the National Association of Hispanic Journalists.
