Defense Secretary Blasts Press Over Iran Strike Coverage, Alleges Undermining of Military Success
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth today strongly criticized the press corps, accusing them of undermining the success of a recent precision military strike targeting Iranian nuclear facilities. Speaking from a podium adorned with the Department of Defense seal, Hegseth asserted that certain elements of the media are engaged in "irresponsible" actions, including leaking and spinning classified information. "There are so many aspects of what our brave men and women did that, because of the hatred of this press corps, are undermined," Hegseth stated. He further claimed that these actions are intended "for political purposes to try to make the president look bad." Hegseth highlighted the achievements of U.S. military personnel, including B-2 and F-35 pilots and air defenders, who he said "accomplish their mission, set back a nuclear program in ways that other presidents would have dreamed." He concluded by reiterating that the media's alleged attempts to discredit these successes are detrimental to the efforts of the armed forces.
