Southeast Coast Batters by Heavy Rains, Tropical Storm Threat Eliminated
Heavy Rains Threaten Southeast Coast; Tropical Storm Threat Diminishes June 4, 2025 - A low-pressure system off the Southeast coast is bringing heavy rain and the threat of flooding to parts of Florida and the Carolinas. While the National Hurricane Center has reduced the chance of tropical development to zero, FOX Weather Hurricane Specialist Bryan Norcross warns of significant rainfall. "There's a big mass of tropical moisture," Norcross stated, pointing to radar images showing concentrated rainfall over South Florida and the Carolinas. He emphasized the threat of flooding, particularly along the I-95 corridor from Miami to Fort Lauderdale. Despite the heavy downpours, Norcross offered reassurance: "No tropical threat any longer. They were at 10%, now they're at zero percent." The heavy rainfall is expected to continue for at least another day, but forecasters anticipate improvement by the weekend. Residents in affected areas are urged to monitor weather updates and take necessary precautions.
