Bangkok, Thailand – A significant road collapse occurred early yesterday morning on Samsen Road, adjacent to Vajira Hospital, as a massive sinkhole rapidly expanded, causing widespread disruption. Eyewitness video footage captured the dramatic moment a section of the road, along with a white pickup truck, gave way and plunged into the growing chasm. Authorities believe a burst pipe, coupled with ongoing subway construction in the vicinity, contributed to the incident. Emergency services promptly responded, initiating evacuations near Vajira Hospital as a precautionary measure. Traffic flow has been severely impacted, with all routes at Vajira Hospital Intersection, Sanghi Intersection, and surrounding areas completely halted. Commuters attempting to enter inner Bangkok from Krung Thon Bridge have experienced particularly severe congestion. Officials have cordoned off the affected zone and commenced urgent repair operations, urging the public to seek alternative routes and exercise caution.
